Biography
David Cutright
(Hartford, CT) David is a composer, pianist, and academic whose music has been performed in the United States and abroad by ensembles such as the Yale Brass Trio, the Bergmál Festival Players (Scandinavia), and the Hartford Chamber Orchestra. As a pianist, he frequently performs his own works and the concert literature. David has served on faculty at the Hartt School and Central Connecticut State University, among many others. He instructs courses from Music History, Theory, Piano, and Composition to English and Psychology. He is former co-director of the Hartt Composer’s Ensemble. Former mentors include: composers Stephen Gryc, Robert Carl, and Larry Alan Smith; pianists Anthony Padillia, David Abbott, and Rebecca Kugler, among others.
